I had a truly nightmarish experience with the Lost and Found department at Verona Airport. My luggage mysteriously disappeared yesterday, and to make matters worse, I had inadvertently placed my house keys and other essential items inside it. This turned my situation into an emergency, as I needed to urgently ascertain the whereabouts of my luggage.
My first call was to the airline, and regrettably, they offered nothing but vague assurances that I would have to wait until the luggage was located and sent to me. The real ordeal, however, began when I contacted the Lost and Found department at Verona Airport.
The service I encountered there was beyond terrible, it was downright abhorrent. I simply inquired about the possibility of obtaining an update on the location of my luggage, given my dire circumstances - stranded in a hotel without my belongings and house keys. I also asked if they could confirm whether the luggage had even been sent by the airline or if it was still at Verona Airport. To my shock and dismay, the person answering the phone not only refused to provide any useful information but also adopted an outrageously rude and unprofessional demeanor.
This airport employee started raising his voice, treating me as if I were some kind of nuisance or, even worse, an animal. To add insult to injury, he refused to provide his name, claiming that he wasn't required to do so. This encounter left me absolutely speechless and in a state of disbelief. As a concerned passenger, facing the distressing situation of lost luggage and being effectively locked out of my own house, I expected at least a modicum of empathy and professionalism. Instead, I was treated with utter disdain and disregard.
I cannot adequately express my profound disappointment and frustration with the complete lack of professionalism and courtesy demonstrated by the Lost and Found department at Verona Airport. It is astonishing and deeply unsettling that an airport, a place that should prioritize the comfort and well-being of travelers, can allow such behavior to persist. My experience has left me in a state of shock, and I sincerely hope that others are spared from the ordeal I endured when seeking assistance at...

Upon arrival, everything went smoothly from departing the plane through passport control, but it was a different story for the collection of our luggage from the baggage carousel. My partners luggage was one of the first through so I assumed mine would be soon after, this was not the case (no pun intended). 10 minutes passed then mine appeared in some sort of condom for suitcases due to the zip being burst open. Granted this could have happened on the way out.
When it was time for departure, this is when I realised the airport was a chaotic mess! We arrived with plenty of time to spare (more than 2 hours before our flight) but due to the lack of organisation at the airport, by the time we checked in, got through security and through passport control, the plane was ready for boarding. When we arrived at the airport, there were queues going in all directions, we eventually worked out which snaking line was ours for check in and, to be fair, this queue went relatively quickly but this was due to the efficiency of the Jet2 staff, nothing to do with the airport staff. After check in, this is when the shocking realisation hit, we had to join an absurdly long line to get through security. The line itself snaked the best part of the terminal 1 building and we found ourselves standing in it for over an hour! The airport was/is going through renovations so there are parts where the a/c is not working, this merely added to the discomfort as we were approaching midday and it was 30+°C outside! There's only so much of the light/heat the tinted windows keep out... Finally, when we got through passport control and the boarding gate, they forced us to stand outside in the heat in what appeared to be some sort of pig pen for humans, some corrugated iron structure that absorbed the outside heat nicely. Making the 15/20 minutes wait for the bus to take us to the plane extremely unpleasant.
I'd highly recommend avoiding this airport at all costs, and going to one of the neighbouring airports if possible. A shocking excuse of an airport with a severe lack of organisation and staff who cared...

Good food. I noticed they would keep the basil fresh as the café near check-in.
Bathrooms were mixed. The new ones were clean & kinda fancy near the entrance. The ones at boarding were fine but dated.
Security was fast.
Small airport. Sometimes this can be bad but here it was convenient. There was no walking miles between places. We walked to board the plane which was right outside the gate. Not too much of a wait after boarding & not restricted in some claustrophobic room which is a nice change compared to other European airports.
Cons: Under renovation so a lot less places to go: stuff available.
Lack of seating. Generally not an issue as it is a small airport but becomes an issue when there’s multiple flights. Our flight was one of the last so wasn’t so much an issue.
Only 2 places available for food, only one of which did simple snacks for the plane, resulting in long queues. Admittedly, this was after 9pm so that may explain the restriction. Kudos to the workers! They must’ve been so tired.
Passport Control was swift is you had an e-passport, however they were trying to get other internationals to use it which, of course, does not work with their passports so it just created a bit of a queue. Maybe their machines are different and can handle it, I’m not sure, but it seemed to not work for those yet they still pushed them to use those gates when it then wouldn’t work.
Delay departing. I think was part due to the airline - check-in was late opening & then plane arrived when we were meant to depart. Resulted in 15-30 min delay, half of which was while we were seated on the plane which is never comfortable. Also not welcome as it prolonged what was already a very long day & journey with a drive once...
