We came to Italy on our honeymoon and for the most part, we stayed in 4/5 star hotels. Honestly, we were debating on staying here or at another 4/5 star hotel highly rated with a pool and a view, but we wanted to know what agrotourismo was and this place sounded so great. We are so HAPPY we came to stay at Vento D'orcia. We were in Italy for 15 days, and this stay was one of our highlights. ||The owner Ana is so lovely, she made us AMAZING breakfasts everyday. Better than the 5 star hotel we stayed in, and honestly better than most of the restaurants we ate at too. Everything she served us (all the cheeses, fruits, the eggs she used for baking) were from the surrounding farms so it was just extra lovely. The room itself looked exactly as advertised, and honestly one of the bigger rooms we got to stay in over our trip, especially for that price. ||If you plan on going there, definitely rent a car, it can be difficult to navigate without one. The property is a 7 min drive to Pienza, which is SO CUTE. We also drove to |Montepulciano and Cortona which are close by. I also recommend booking your dinner with Ana in advance, we weren't sure if we were going to eat there so didn't book in advance enough, and after eating those breakfasts it was definitely one of our regrets. Book it a week in advance, note that you can't book one on Sunday. ||Also take some time to view the surrounding area, there was an Olive Farm close by with tastings (driving to Ana's meant we got to smell the olives in the wind) and there were so many lovely wineries around to just stop by at. It was a really...

Ana, thank you for such an amazing stay at Vento D’Orcia. We had the most delicious breakfasts hand prepared by Ana with love. We also chose to have dinner with her on our night of arrival and it was absolutely delicious! You are also able to order wine and apertivo/snacks when available. The views from outside were just breathtaking and there were numerous seating options outside for relaxation! We greatly enjoyed the 3 cats and dog on the property, all very sweet and loving. We were able to meet another couple staying in the room next to ours and enjoyed dining with them and learning more about their life and culture. The rooms are beautiful! You have your own bedroom and bathroom and share a common area with other guests. I always found myself in a lounge chair outside reading a book or just looking at the views. There are many local restaurants that are delicious and it is only a quick drive to the main town! We also were able to do days trips to Montalcino and Montepulciano as well. Ana is the most amazing host who made us feel so welcome with her special touches. She even makes her own Limoncello and Orange Liquor! We were sent off with homemade biscuits at checkout. We cannot wait to return with our family so they can experience the same beauty we did. Highly...

While the rooms are nicely decorated and the guests are offered lounge chairs and view, there are several things for people to be aware of - which are not fully obvious. To start with, the house is built on a bare hill. There are a few trees here and there, and that’s that. You can’t wonder around immersed in the nature as there’s the impression. Next, and very important: there is no restaurant. You can’t order dinner unless ordered a few days before, and at a high price. The closest spot to have food is in the village three miles away, and on a regular night you won’t grab a bite as everything is filled and closes early. That said, the breakfast is made by the hostess herself using the local produce. It’s mainly pastries and sweets, but one egg dish was also included. Nicely served, but not excessive. To round up, please be aware this is somebody’s home. Rooms are rented to tourists but the essence remains: you are just a visitor, and reminded of that regularly. The rooms are also rather smallish. To be fair, the quality of sleep is fairly good. Should this place had not had such high rating, the issues above would probably not be so disappointing. However, we feel that it was overrated, and most importantly, misrepresented with regard to the...

Vento d’Orcia is one of those places that you only want to know by yourself. It is a small farm house run by Ana and her family with 3 beautiful cats and a courageous dog. The room condition is cozy and clean and the bedding and towels crispy clean. The garden and the surrounding nature is just amazing and breathtaking. At night you can see the stars that looks like their falling right at you. Last but not least, Ana’s home made food is to die for. She fills your belly with amazing home made breakfast with pies that you could eat again and again. And dinner upon request in advance, is a must! Healthy delicious and even looks beautiful. She even collects the herbs from her garden to give the fresh finishing touches. I truly look forward to visiting the Vento d’Orcia very soon!

This trip took me to Milan, Rome, Florence, and Sicily, but it was at Ana’s farmhouse-Vento d’Orcia, Tuscany, that I truly felt Italy’s warmth and passion. The estate is beautiful, and you can see her care in every detail. Every morning there will be homemade breakfast made from local ingredients—fresh and delicious—and her attentively maintained rooms guarantee the best night’s sleep. Most importantly, her gentle hospitality makes you feel like family or friends and Ana’s five cats also made my son reluctant to leave. This is the most beautiful memory of my journey.
