Of all the stop I made on the AV1 this was perhaps the least pleasant. The staff was friendly but disorganized. The food was mediocre. The rooms were overcrowded when empty ones were available. I asked to be moved from a 10 person down and they accommodated me in a 5 person instead, but why cram everyone in one room when there is space? The bathrooms were not cleaned with any frequency and often out of paper. And at 8am you are effectively kicked out of the place…
To your lengthy and mistaken reply - you must think I am someone else because I did not ask for bread, as I am gluten free. I also did not ask for grappa as I do not drink. And I certainly did not ask anyone to plug in my phone, as I recognize I was not staying at a 5 star resort. So please do take my review as an honest reflection of my experience having spent 10 nights in refugi on my trek, most if not all were a more pleasant experience. I respect how challenging the work is, and how many people you see on a passing basis. Instead of making bogus accusations you can consider ways of making the experience more efficient & enjoyable for everyone involved....

Wifi: Yes
Food: Lunch was very tasty (though the goulash/polenta dish was salty unless you mixed the whole thing), dinner was ok. They had salad, which was rare/excellent. The breakfast was rough....it the worst coffee we had on the alta via 1 I'd say.
Rooms: Comfortable, though tight quarters. The outlet situation was not ideal. Outlets were only available in the common area downstairs, and they were primarily USB-A banks, some of which didn't work.
Bathrooms: Showers were 6 euro for 5 minutes (we think). The showers were in the bathroom stalls, which created a bit of a traffic jam at times.
Potable water: No

Read moreWe stayed with friends for one night on the Alta Via 1. The accommodation is classic tourist accommodation. We slept on bunk beds in a shared room of 12 people. You have to believe you're not sleeping with someone who snores. Then even earplugs won't help. Generally expect not to get much sleep, but the on the other hand, you sleep in clean sheets on a soft bed.
As for food, we chose the dinner and breakfast option. I would recommend that. Dinner really comes in handy after a long trip. The dinner itself consisted of three courses - soup, main course and dessert. Most of the food is typical of the local region. The breakfast was passable. Coffee in the morning played a big part and was...
