We were so lucky to find Cornell with FunTrip Tours Jamaica. He gave us private tours two days in a row and these two days were our favorite days of our vacation. He was on time, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable about all things Jamaica. I jokingly asked my husband if Cornell was a botanist, because he knew about every single plant, fruit, and tree that is native to Jamaica! It is clear that he is a proud Jamaican and created FunTrip Tours so he can share the beauties of this island with everyone. Not only did we learn a ton, but we saw the “real” Jamaica which is what we asked for. He was able to customize our tours to exactly what we were looking for. He took us to authentic food stands and local beaches where we met incredibly kind Jamaicans along the way. The food and drinks were delicious - we are still talking about it! The last part of our tour with him was a trip to 7 mile beach in Negril followed by Rick’s cafe. It was a blast from start to finish! I reached out to Cornell Through WhatsApp, and had the pleasure of having Percy as our driver. Cornell was very responsive at communicating details and answering questions. Percy was above and beyond! We stopped at all three attractions on top of mini pitstops per request— we stopped at a local gas station, ate some local Jamaican food from a restaurant, and even stopped to get some street food. I wanted a Jamaican experience and he did exactly that. Percy is a high school teacher and he loves to teach. I learned so much about Jamaica’s culture, politics, and people. I had a really bad cough during the trip and he even stopped by two pharmacies to get some medicine for me. They were both closed, but it was a thought that counted! Cornell is amazing! He made sure we were comfortable, relaxed and safe throughout the entire day. He arrived on time and was in constant communication with me from the time of booking and up until the end of the tour. He is extremely knowledgeable about Jamaica and shared some cool facts about this lovely island. He took us to a local stand for fresh coconut water, another local spot on the beach where we were able to pick our own lobster for lunch and they were able to cook it for us. We were able to relax on 7 mile beach (the most beautiful beach) and visit Rick’s Cafe. Cornell also took us to some local gems that only the locals know about, which was incredible.
