The place was so beautiful and located in the mountains so there is privacy when u go into the outdoor onsen.
The women and men onsen are separated. U purchase the onsen ticket and even amenities such as bath towels via the vending machine. Yes, u get to keep the amenities u purchase. There are lockers in the changing room and u get 100 yen back each time u unlock the locker. The view in the women onsen was just stunning with the autumn foliage. Gave it an almost out-of-movie vibe. U get an almost 270 degrees view of the surroundings and mountains from the women outdoor onsen. Both outdoor and indoor onsen are available. Soothing music plays in the background - the overall experience was so tranquil, luxurious and beautiful. Felt so comfy, soothed and rejuvenated after the onsen soak.
Went on a weekday afternoon and was drizzling slightly so it was not crowded at all and I had the onsen almost all to myself with just a few people here and there. We were the only non-locals.
The food here is one of the best meals I’ve had cos it tasted so authentic, homey and local. The pickles were so delicious. Absolutely love the chewey soba and fresh white bait rice. Food is ordered via the vending machine as well.
Hospitality at the onsen and restaurant is so so genuine and warm too.
The entire place was just very homey, peaceful, quiet and with a beautiful view u can see through the glass. Very Clean and up-kept even tho the interior is a bit of a blast to the past, just a tat 80s but very Japanese.
Love my experience there so much. It’s easy to get to if u r driving, free parking....
Read moreMyoekyo is a magnificent place. For 600 yen you can relax in a hot spring. If you're feeling achy, you might enjoy a hot tub with water jets massaging your body. After that, you can then stroll out the door and into their out-door hot spring. From there you can enjoy the surrounding natural beauty of the evergreen mountains and fresh air. At night, you'll feel like you're in another world where every day cares wash off you as you watch the steam rise off the water and into the star filled sky. I recommend it.
There is one caveat. The mens are womens baths are separated. That may be a shame for the men, it's not the caveat I'm talking about. There are two baths which are rotated (I don't know how often) and depending on the luck of your draw you may be in the expansive (far end) side or the smaller side. Both are nice but the expansive side is definitely...
Read moreExcellent hot spring bath house, spacious, clean, souvenir shop and restaurant with great Japanese food (not expensive). Entry was ¥700, a big set for dinner cost 1700. We were almost alone, only few other customers. The hot spring was only about 40°C so not very hot but we enjoyed it. There is a massage pool - very nice. The outdoor hot spring pool was very relaxing, soaking in hot water while taking in the views of the surrounding...
