近畿地区でも最大級の「円墳」だそうです。「ヤマト政権」と何らかの関係があったのではないかと･･･言われてますが、私は但馬、丹後地域がヤマトとは別の大陸との往来があったのではないかと思います。出土品は「矢じり　剣　長剣　鏡　鎧や兜」など見つかったそうです。こちらに来れば何かを感じられるかもしれませんね？　周りは何もない田舎の景色･･･と思ったら北近畿豊岡自動車道を上から眺められて和田山ICも近くにあり交通の便も良しです...

この公園の案内表示が前から気になっていて訪問しましたが、駐車場とかの案内が無く、駐車場も無いのかも知れませんが・・少し広い...
