Cape Echizen — Local services in Echizen

Echizen Misaki : Echizen Cape & Echizen Land of Suisen ( Daffodil ) 越前岬水仙ランド Along the coast of northern part of Echizen is a place where you can go uphill near Echizen Cape. There is an observation deck up on the top of the hill overlooking a beach. This hill is known as a colony of Echizen Suisen ( Daffodil ) bloom in winter ( from late February to mid-March ). The place is called " Land of Suisen ". This spot is designated as one of the most beautiful 100 spots to observe sunset in Japan. There is a winding path paved with stones around the hill near the top with facilities open to public. If you ever come to visit this area between late March and late May do not miss to check the calendar for their night illumination event. There is a monumental light house shedding a soft beam of light around the hill. It was built here in 1954 as a landmark. Further going up the hill the road leads to observation spots placed in two different location. From the top observation deck you can see the best view of sunset along the coast.
