Very well-marked and maintained trails, and lots of signage to guide you. Even if you don't read Japanese there's cell service so you can use Google Translate, and even without that there's approximate distances on the signs. However I don't think it's safe for very small children as there's lots of places that drop off suddenly that are only marked off with rope. So any bigger kids who know not to jump off the edge should be fine. Even for adults it's a bit scary sometimes when climbing ladders or observation platforms. There are handrails and the sort for most of them but the slight fright is worth the sight at the top.

A metal staircase leads to a boulder with great views of the Ena/Nakatsugawa area, although a little scary standing up there! A short walk (400m) takes you to a shrine at the peak. Read more先日、テレビでお笠さんの愛称で地域の人の信仰であるとの話を聞いて、早速ハイキングに! 山頂の表札は、神社のウラです|( ̄3 ̄)|
更にヒカリ苔なるものがあるらしく、とても見たいと思って来訪( ̄▽ ̄) 残念、冬場は見れないのか場所は判明しましたが、全然見れませんでした。(冬場はダメなのか?) また春か秋頃に再チャレンジしようと思います。 山頂の東側にヒカリ苔の岩が群れており、岩陰やら潜れる場所にあるとか。。。
駐車場から約1時間もしないで頂上まで辿り着けるのでお手軽です。ただ、冬場は雪が根雪やアイスになって滑るのでノーマルタイヤは危険です。。。
見晴らしポイントもあって、恵那山や御嶽山、白山が見れました。
