I nice place for camping. Just choose your spot to set up and you're done. Getting here by car is recommended as it's quite far from everything and you can carry your equipment easily. If you prefer bicycle it's also fine since there are bike parking areas. I went there on the 28th December 2023 and it got quite cold at night ( -4°C ) so do prepare for the cold if you intend to come during the winter season. You can buy gas cartridges, potato chips and other merchandise stuff at their shop and there is also vending machines that sell warm drinks.
*However please take note that you need to buy firewood as you are not allowed to pick them up from the surrounding forest and will need a stand as they also don't allow you to make the fire on the ground. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, be sure to purchase enough firewood before 5pm as the shops close at 5 pm. We had to find that out the hard way when our wood ran out at 6. Overall this campsite was worth making the trip to 10/10...
Read moreA place for a safe and child friendly camping experience, especially for city folks like us. A less visited place to view of Mount Fuji that now with this comment, i have committed a crime of exposing knowledge of it to the swarm of hungry tourists. My word, it's colossus occupying 2/3 of my view like a giant monster ready to pick and swallow me up at any time. It's just unbelievable a giant like that is actually standing a good 40km away. I never got tired of seeing it throughout the afternoon, through sunset and sunrise, moon lit up the sky at night turning it into a perfect background to bring out its silhouette, a dark giant monster... scary maybe, but I loved every ounce of it. Campsite is well equipped, you can bath, buy rice, bbq equipment and materials, fire woods on site. For new campers, don't under-estimate the cold outfield at night in Japan, it went down to 3°C on an early Autumn day...
Read moreOne of my favourite campsites to take in the healing vibes of nature and mt.Fuji sitting right in front of you. The campground is very spacious and has plenty of room for many individuals and groups to set up camp. Bathrooms are clean and you can collect water from the multiple taps scattered through the location (cold water only).
This is a drive in campsite so it's easy to move around and look for a spot to set up your tent but, there's no driving past 5pm so make sure you have everything you need beforehand. Its also a good idea to go on weekdays as weekends can be really crowded.
You can purchase wood for your fires at the shop so you can show up with a lighter load but be aware that direct fires are not allowed so bring a proper wood burning stove or maybe gas. They also sell culled deer meat and local pork as well as other...
