2023年4月 久しぶりに！ここへきたら、必ずここの近くの妙見様へ！お水汲みに行くのおすすめです。 ====== あまり知られていませんが素晴らしい神社です。 気になる方はぜひ行かれることをお勧めします。 行けば色々わかります！ 運が良ければ 宮司さんが親切に色々教えてくださいます。 あちこち素晴らしい場所がありました。 くわしくはここには書けないですが、 ご縁がある方はぜひ立ち寄られてください。 It is a great shrine that is not well known. If you are interested, we recommend that you go there. If you go, you will understand a lot! If you are lucky Mr. Miyaji will kindly tell you. There were wonderful places here and there. In detail I can not write here, Please drop by if you have an edge.

This is one of the nicest shrines I've ever been to in a small rural village. The shrine is beautiful, and the large, majestic trees are amazing.

五ヶ瀬町鞍岡に鎮座します。 那須大八郎宗久（与一の弟）は平家の落人を追って阿蘇より日向の境に入ったが山が険しく、 馬を乗り捨て徒歩で行軍することになりました。 馬を乗り捨てたところを後に 「鞍岡」と呼ぶようになったと伝わります。 ◆御由緒◆ 第29代欽明天皇の16年頃、知保郷（昔のこの辺りの地名）で疫病が流行した際、厄難消除の守護神として創始。 第56代清和天皇の貞観11年（869年）山城国（京都）八坂神社より素盞鳴大神を勧請、その他の諸神を合祀し八坂神社と改称。 昭和10年祇園神社と改称し現在に至ります。 このあたりは、日向天孫降臨の地であるため 素戔嗚命を祀る神社は珍しいとされています。
