One of my favourite places on the planet. A large, clean and isolated island rich with culture, history and a slow pace. The island is 100% sustainable, with a maxium speed limit of only 50km/h.
"Tora-san in Goto" gives the insights into life and times in this remote part of Japan.
Particular favourite parts of the island: Onidake Observatory - The walked from Goto Con-kana Okoku Winary to the top of the little volcano, then down into the crater was just wonderful. Green and vibrant. Ousesaki Lighthouse gave unrilvaled viwes of crystal clear water and amazing landscapes.
