Hamanaka Station — Local services in Hamanaka

We stopped by Hamanaka Station during our eastern Hokkaido road trip, and it was a fun surprise! As fans of Lupin the 3rd, we were excited to see the themed displays and decorations throughout the station. Hamanaka is the hometown of Monkey Punch, the creator of Lupin, and the station pays tribute to his work with character panels, posters, and even a statue. It’s a small, quiet station, but worth the stop if you’re a Lupin fan or just passing through the area. A great photo spot and a nice way to learn more about local pride in Japanese...

ルパンの里・浜中。

駅はルパンづくし・・・なぜルパン？と素朴に疑問に思ったら、ここ浜中はルパンの生みの親モンキーパンチ氏の生まれ故郷なのだとか。なるほどね。

わが町ご当地入場券を買い求めに来たが、ここは無人駅。近く（と言っても15km離れているのだが・・・）の霧多布温泉ゆうゆで購入することが出来ます。
