広島市内で一番おっきい島。日本初バームクーヘンが焼かれたお菓子の聖地。しかし、特に島のウリになってないのが残念賞。きれいな海に囲まれ、のんびりチャリンコやバイクで周遊するのによかですたい。お達者さんは似島富士こと安芸小富士に登るもよし。商店は、似島港付近にしかないので、おやつ、お茶はこちらで用意するとええでしょう。島の東側にある似島学園には、昔設置されていた検疫所で働いてた昭和の大政治家、後藤新平の像が立っている。後藤新平は台湾総督府民政長官、東京都知事、内務大臣などを歴任。都知事のときは、関東大震災の後の東京再建を指揮。元医師なのもあってか、生命体に見られるような有機的連結を摸した街づくりを構想されとったそうな。時代をずいぶん先取りしとったんじゃね。えらいね。

為所謂貓島而去，島上基乎乜都無！ 有1，2間士多，最主要歡光案內無開。 但可自行填表入錢箱租單車環島遊，因為最後無租用腳行，由似島港行中路去交流中心。 除左又熱又曬又遠又上大斜又落又完全無景點之外，最幸福時間係一出碼頭隔離單車處同交流中心食煙區，以及想唔到有既餐廳！ 整體行程比預期好，唔錯！ 建議踩單車遊覽可能好少少！

為所謂貓島而去，島上基乎乜都無！ 有1，2間士多，最主要歡光案內無開。 但可自行填表入錢箱租單車環島遊，因為最後無租用腳行，由似島港行中路去交流中心。 除左又熱又曬又遠又上大斜又落又完全無景點之外，最幸福時間係一出碼頭隔離單車處同交流中心食煙區，以及想唔到有既餐廳！ 整體行程比預期好，唔錯！ 建議踩單車遊覽可能好少少！

Have been there for volunteer work after landslides caused by heavy rain. Used the chance to ride around the island by bike.

Got to know the island as a place to go for a quiet, non touristic place with kind people around.
