ちょっと想像をはるかに超えていた、頓原の由來八幡宮の大杉 須佐神社の大杉よりも大きいのでは？ 八幡宮ですが、元々は合祀された多倍神社（大国主命）の御神木だったようです。 近くには大国主命と須勢理姫の駆け落ち後にイチャラブした、琴引山。 神戸川上流を探っていくと古代出雲が見えてきますね。 ちょっと残念だったのは鳥居横の案内板に政治ポスターが貼ってあったこと。 信仰と政治は一緒にしないで頂きたい。

源頼朝の命で鶴岡八幡宮より分霊された八幡宮です。 「難関突破成就」(！)という出雲でも稀なる御神徳の神社です。参道の階段を登ると眼前に堂々と聳える樹齢千年の大杉は圧巻のパワーを感じます。千年以上の時を生きた生物に出会える機会は滅多に無いと思います。是非御参拝ください。
