舟で沖へ出た浦の嶋子は五色の亀を釣り上げ、亀姫に出会いました。舟はこの入江から漕ぎ出したのでしょう。今も小さな漁港があります。

場所は丹後半島の先端のほぼ中央。浦島神社から歩いて20分ちょっと。正面の砂浜が海水浴場です。訪れた日は天気が良く、海は鮮やかなエメラルドグリーン。砂浜は白く、粒が細かい。

季節外れなので人っ子一人おらず。波の音が穏やかに聞こえてくるばかりです。砂浜に突き出た岩場に小さな祠。嶋子ゆかりのものでしょうか。しばらく沖の方を見つめ、五色の亀が出て来るのを待ちました...
