Ōi-jinja Shrine — Local services in Kameoka

Ooi Shrine is located in a town called Ooi-cho near Namikawa Station of Kameoka. The deity enshrined in this place is Tsukinomikoto ( deity of wane & wax of the moon believed to have special power of protection for safe delivery and agricultural fortune ). The shrine was originally established here in 710 by an order of emperor and it was later of rebuilt in 1584 by an order of Toyotomi Hideyoshi ( War Lord of Japan ). According to the legend, deities of this shrine were sent from Matsuo Taisha Shrine of NishiKyo-ku and arrived at a pond of this shrine riding on the back of a turtle. Another legend says a deity Konomata-no-kami arrived at this shrine by riding on the back of Koi ( carp ) along Rozu River flowing north of this shrine. Hozu River is a part of Katsura River in Kameoka flowing from west to east. For this reason, there are symbolic monuments of carp and turtle in this shrine. On August 19th starting at 18:30 is Flower Festival of this shrine. This is their annual event of summer time. In this festival you can see artistic display of live plants called Rikka which is designated as tangible cultural asset. Offering of Rikka to its mainhall has been a longstanding custom of this shrine. There would be many festival stalls in its precincts during the festivity. Bon Dance is also scheduled from 19:30. They also hold Bingo Game at the end of Bon Dance in which you might get a chance to win something good. 京都府亀岡市大井町の神社。式内社。主祭神は、月読命、市杵島姫命、木俣神。創建は、和銅3年(710)。大宝2年(702)、京都市西京区の松尾大社より、月読命と市杵島姫命が亀の背に乗って川をのぼったが、保津の急流で進めなくなり、鯉に乗り換えて在元淵へやってきた。それを見ていた工匠が社を建立、河原林町の大井神社となった。境内社多数。 最初の印象は、学校の裏手にある神社。住宅街の末にあり、よく見ると長い参道、境内がある。小川が流れており、橋を渡って境内に入っていく。本殿の裏手に境内社が並んでいるのが良い。(本殿裏手に境内社が並ぶ事例は、滋賀県近江八幡市の沙沙貴神社がある。) 月読命は、月を神格化、夜を統べる神。天照大神の弟。須佐之男命の兄。木俣神は、大穴牟遅神(大国主)と八上比売の子。大国主最初の妻であった八上比売だが、須勢理毘売を正妻に迎えたことを恐れ、子を木の俣に刺し挟んで実家に帰ったことから、木俣神、またの名を御井神と云う。 現地は、並河駅の南東250m。幹線道路の反対側、入り組んだ場所で分かりづらい。国道9号線・土田南信号を東側へ道なりに入る。並河駅を通過し、700mを進み、踏切を渡ると、1つ目の交差点から右手、細い路地を進み、2つ目の交差点を左に入る。120m先に神社の駐車場、境内が見える。もう少し先に進み、左手へ降りると、広い駐車場が...

さすが式内社‼️見どころ満載やわ。 驚いたことに本殿裏には神社オールスターズがあります。 そして伊勢神宮へ行かなくても御参り気分が味わえるスポットも。 お祭りで1回ほどしか来たことなかったですがええ神社ですやん⛩

メチャメチャキレイに掃除されてるし落ち葉のアートも楽しめるし毎日手入れしてはるんでしょうね。

明け方に行くと照明がついてるのでそれがまた良い雰囲気出してました。
