A quick detour from the main road. Only worth when you are around the area. There is ample parking.

The viewing platform is quite far from the actual rock face. Nothing spectacular, though the sound from the river is quite calming.

A quick detour from the main road. Only worth when you are around the area. There is ample parking. The viewing platform is quite far from the actual rock face. Nothing spectacular, though the sound from the river is quite calming. There is an abandoned bridge and tunnel just beside it.

2024年8月お盆… ＿＿📝竹浦梅四郎 上川日誌📝＿ · 🗣️📱あ〜もしもしぃ… そうだよ、そう……うん、今日層雲峡に来ているんだよ… なんて感じの層雲峡観光… 現在の一般的な層雲峡観光スタイルでは柱状節理がもっとも間近でみられるスポットの一つでしょうね。 · ＿＿＿＿＿＿＿大函＿＿＿＿＿＿ · 旭川方面から来た場合、トンネルを抜けたら突如看板が現れるのでついつい通り過ぎてしまいがちな観光スポットです。 無料駐車場付近に有るトラス式鉄橋は新大函トンネル開通以前まで使われていた旧道時代の物。 旧トンネルも橋も一般者は立ち入る事が出来ません。 入口にはトラロープが張られ、このトラス橋を通らすわけにはイカン！って感じです。 …… 大函に対して小函という場所もありますが、此方も現在は立入禁止！ 場所が場所だけに崩落事故の危険性が常ですからね…新大函トンネルも銀河トンネルも崩落の危険性を回避する目的で造られた物、銀河トンネル開通以前は柱状節理をより多角的に観る事が出来ていましたがやはり安全第一、背に腹は代えられないってことが柱状節理だけに通常の摂理なのでしょう。
