Shiratoriyama — Local services in Kirishima

The best place to see the entirety of the crater Lake Byakushiike, with the stunning view of Mount Karakunidake at the backdrop.

Enjoyable hike in Kirishima Kinkowan National Park. A gentle hiking experience with great views of two crater lakes. We parked at the Ebino Plateau parking lot and did a loop hike which passed the Shiratoriyama summit. I believe it's called 'Ebino Highland Crater Lake' on AllTrails.

霧島市観光協会では2021.10月より霧島連山15を登る山印帳(スタンプ帳)を始められました。全山制覇すると先着300名がオリジナルシェラカップがもらえます。それは無理でもスタンプラリーには挑戦してみたい。既に登った山も一からやり直しにはなります。

白鳥山(1363m)までは、エコミュージアムセンター前の駐車場をスタートして1時間弱なので初心者向きです。ただし普段歩き慣れてない人には坂道はしんどいのかも。スニーカーでは厳しいので一応登山靴が必要です。 山頂からは、韓国岳、甑岳だけでなく、夷守岳、栗野岳、桜島も綺麗に見えました。

あまり歩きたくない人は、駐車場から35分ほどの二湖パノラマ展望台も、見晴らしは十分素晴らしいです。湖だけの見晴らしなら、山頂よりコチラの方が全貌が見えます。 ここに行く途中では、可愛い鹿の親子に遭遇しました。
