Read moreBeautiful prefectural park. 2 large lakes and two marshes. 7 peaks that are all worth climbing. The visitors center is not the best but it is a good place to rent snowshoes for a reasonable rate. There is a very small "family ski slope" , no rope tow or chair lift but it does have a 60 meter escalator which can be used for skiing or sledding. There is also an excellent sledding hill by the visitors center. The "town" is by the shores of Onuma- the largest lake, and there are inns and restaurants but plan to eat lunch, not dinner as they all...
Read moreOne of the quickest summits, with easy access by car. It rained last night so it was slippery at many places but trail was well managed as such. If you do mt kurobi and then mt komagatake, then ascent will be a bit steeper in starting with foresty trail (almost no wooden steps) whereas lots of steps on descent from Mt komagatake. It was good for my knees to have steps during descent.
