２０２５年６月の休日に自転車で訪れました。上日川峠は標高１５８５ｍですが、上日川ダム側に少し行った所がピークで１６２０ｍ位あります。甲斐大和からの道は基本１．５車線ですが、マイクロバスが通ることもあり整備されていて走りやすいです。勾配も急ではありませんが距離も標高差もあります。裂石温泉からの道は狭くて勾配も急でなかなか厳しい道です。開けた場所があり景色がよいです。どちらも全舗装です。上日川峠は大菩薩峠への登山口となっているのでとても混んでいました。

日本百名山大菩薩嶺への玄関口です。 甲斐大和駅からここまでバスが運行しています。普段は一日数本のみですが、シーズン中は臨時便も運行しています。駅から40分ほどで来れます。 ロッヂ「長兵衛」があり、食事を取ることができます。看板を見た限りでは宿泊もできるようです。店の前には木製テーブルと椅子があり、登山客たちが休憩する姿をよく見かけます。百名山バッジを集める方は、ここで大菩薩嶺のバッジが買えます。 すぐ近くにトイレがあるので、登山者に...
