豊後森機関庫ミュージアム — Local services in Kusu

American Family Visiting This small museums is on the same grounds as the lighthouse. There are restrooms here, be sure to take your shoes off before entering the museum!

There is a lot of information regarding the history of the bungomori roundhouse and the station area itself. The exhibits are in Japanese so you will need something like google translate to read them. The attendant there was extremely friendly and tried showing us around. He spoke limited to no English but was thrilled to see us.

Tickets are purchased at the front door by a small ticket machine. He will help you if you look lost. There are a few small items you can purchase (bungomori sticker, coaster, etc). It will only take you about 15 minutes to go through as it's a single room with a secondary room where kids can color and do other activities like create paper trains (for a cost). All pricing was reasonable.

There is also an outdoor small scale train that is rideable around a very small circuit. Unsure if it is still used as it was closed when we were there.

Oh and we happened to be there when the resort train Yufuin was passing by so got to wave at all the people in the train as they went through :)

豊後森機関庫公園の一画、豊後森駅寄りにミュージアムが有ります。豊後森駅、機関庫公園と見学し立ち寄りました。当日はとても天気の良い日となり気温もぐんぐん上がり暑い日だったのを覚えています。

公園も一通り見学し一休みしようとミュージアムを訪れました。ミュージアムへは入り口でスリッパに履き替えます。入館記念券をいただけるのですが、切符位のサイズで館長様がハサミを入れてくれますよ。改札鋏、、懐かしい！決して広くない展示室には所狭しと数多くの物が展示されていますよ。見入ってしまいました！プラスチックの板を利用して作られた電車の模型がとても良い味を出していて素敵でしたよ。館長様もとっても素敵な方、当日豊後森駅でのななつ星の停車を教えていただきました。

展示室の奥は広い一室が有ります。鉄道に関する書物も用意されていて一休みがてら椅子に座って拝見するのも良いですね。当日は小さなお子さんを連れたお母さんとおばあちゃんですかね、遊びに来ていましたよ。お子さんが楽しそうにおもちゃで遊んでいましたね、とても良い時間でした。

私は鉄道には詳しくないのですが、とても楽しい時間を過ごせましたよ。森とデザインされた可愛らしい缶バッチとステッカーを購入しました。そうそう、こちらでは公園に有る白い扉（アニメ）の撮影用の小物（椅子）をお借りする事が出来ますよ。館長様にお声がけしてお借り出来るそうです...
