I went on a stormy day. There's a couple of stalls/shops for food, lots of free parking. It's a short walk through along a wooded path before you get to a small field next to a stream. Continue further and you get to the wide open Vista. Even on an overcast wet day the field of akasoba was spectacular! This is one of the most unique things in Japan since the akasoba was imported from China and only grows in Nagano. You can buy soba dishes at the stalls. Nagano is...

Visited on Sept 21, 2025 It felt like it was not a full bloom yet.

Parking and entry both are free and need to walk just 400m from the parking.

It was huge and there is a photo spot where they have made a handmade tripod for people who has no one to take pictures of.

You can also enjoy soba outside the field and they have small stall for farmers’ products.

A pleasant surprise in this trip. Weather was not too kind as it was raining while we were there. But still could not stop thinking of how nice this place could be in a bright sunny day. That familar lovely Furano, Hokkaido feel had come all back. Highly recommend if you happen to be at Matsumoto during this part...

I went on a stormy day. There's a couple of stalls/shops for food, lots of free parking. It's a short walk through along a wooded path before you get to a small field next to a stream. Continue further and you get to the wide open Vista. Even on an overcast wet day the field of akasoba was spectacular!
