We were looking for the most luxurious ryokan in Morioka for a rest day as we were passing through to Aomori. Our prerequisite was that the ryokan be aimed predominantly at Japanese clients (why would you come to Japan to do what other foreigners do?!).||Bessou Kakei did not disappoint.||The views from our private onsen bath were jaw dropping, with water being piped from the local hot spring. Read moreWonderful ryokan. The inns are beautifully decorated, the food is fantastic, the staff are so friendly and nice and the private indoor and outdoor baths are so warm and relaxing. We stayed there for 3 nights and really didn't want to leave. Everything in the rooms is of the highest quality. When I visit Tohoku I will definitely stay again.
You order the food from your room on an iPad and then it served to you in your room. The breakfast (included) is particularly delicious and was different each morning.
The views from the room are beautiful over looking the lake and with a perfect view of Mt Iwate. Relaxing in the outdoor private onsen overlooking the beautiful lake with the sound of falling rain was the highlight of my...

However, these were overshadowed by the overall...
