It snowed when we were there. Our guide also provided us with some light refreshments. The atmosphere was serene as the snow was not too deep. Though last year the snow covered to nearly the tops of the Tori gates, i was told.

天命稲荷神社は、 鏡池から戸隠神社奥社、九頭龍社へ向かう途中に鎮座する。昭和37年、戸隠修験道を受け継ぐ公明院の姫野公明という尼僧が、お告げを受け建てたものだという。 少し離れて、距離を置いて向かい合う一対の男女の石像がある。戸隠に伝わる「鬼女紅葉伝説」の鬼女紅葉と、紅葉を矢で討った平維茂（たいらのこれもち）ではないかと言われてる。
