以真實的合掌造民居為原型，展示了五箇山江戶時代的生活用具等。沿著樓梯登上閣樓，可以近距離看到合掌造的框架和內部結構。 五箇山地區位於富山縣西南端，周圍環繞著1500m級的山脈，冬季降雪量為2～3m，是大雪地區。清流莊川（從飛騨高知流向日本海的 A 級河流，全長 115 公里）沿岸散佈著 40 個村莊。與白川鄉荻町一起被列為聯合國教科文組織世界遺產。 五箇山的地名首次出現於室町時代，即 1513 年（永正 10 年）。名字的由來據說是由五個溪谷（赤尾溪谷、上無溪谷、下無溪谷、小谷溪谷、富谷溪谷）組成的村莊群的總稱，加賀封建時代約有七十個村莊。 目前，世界遺產相倉的兩個村莊都位於這裡。它有著悠久的居住歷史，可以追溯到繩文時代，歷經古代、中世紀和近代早期，由於其與日本截然不同的地理和自然條件，形成了獨特的文化。

２階建ての民族館で入館料が300円。１階はDVDの紹介映像がある。係のおばさんがとてもフレンドリーで素敵。長年この地域に住んでらっしゃる地元の方らしく、この地域でのお話も楽しく入って良かった。観光で地元の人との会話はより思い出深いものになる。入り口は窓がないので(当たり前だけど)入りにくい感じもするが、ぜひ入ってみてください。
