Short ropeway ride (~2min) up to a scenic observation deck. Good view of Kegon waterfall with autumn colors.

Ropeway departs every 10min. Huge jam up the mountain during the peak season. Took about 1.5h on the bus from Tobu Nikko station. The traffic was worse for those driving as the carpark is quite packed.

The roads up and down the mountain are only in one direction so it’s recommended to visit the ropeway before going to lake chuzenji if you’re taking the bus from Nikko dtation. Otherwise, you’ll need to take the bus down the mountain from chuzenji and up again to the ropeway. Expect jams up and down the mountain.

No direct bus back to Nikko station. Need to take a bus to chuzenji onsen terminal and make a tenagee.

You got to come at the right time if you want to see stunning view from the observation deck where the 3 minutes cable car bring you. Probably the best timing could be during autumn. But if you're highland kind of person any season will make you amaze.

You need to take 2 round trip ticket for 730yen or unless you want to go hiking after you reach the observation deck. Probably you could do that if not that not offer one way trip.

Great way to see both Kegon fall and lake Chizenji. The rope way take only 2-3 minutes each round. In high season try to get on the bus from Nikko Tobu at 8.35 which will arrived at Akedachi stop at 9.10 (The ropeway open at 9 am) or you can get on earlier bus and wait 25 mins.
