It is a small station and the toilet has a bad smell. But good thing, it's very close to the Shiroishi river where you can enjoy the view of beautiful sakura trees. The cute statue is wearing mask, kindly to remind us to wear mask during this pandemic time.

柴田郡で県の出先機関や裁判所・法務局などの主要施設をもつ大河原町の玄関口。 仙台からここまでの折り返し電車を走らせることは出来るが、白石まで行けばいいので今は走らせてはいない模様。 桜の時期になるとすぐ近くにある河川敷に屋台やあふれんばかりの桜並木が出て賑わうが、それ以外の時期は閑散としてしまう。 国鉄当時は急行列車のほぼすべてが停車するほどだったが車社会への意向で駅も小さくなった。 窓口はあるがきっぷの販売はしていいないので、自動券売機での近距離のみの販売である。遠距離きっぷは岩沼駅か白石駅とかでの購入になる Suica改札機はある

Small station. Check times as the train wasn't as frequent as I thought it would be. I waited almost an hour for my train back to Sendai station.
