There were definitely fairies in the view from the open-air bath.

As a Japanese hot spring lover, this is the best natural hot spring I've ever visited.

My recommendation is the hot springs and the Genghis Khan BBQ (mutton) self-barbecue here.

The cost is 2800 yen per person including hot spring fee. (Draft beer is an additional charge) Reservations required. All vegetables are fresh from nearby farms.

The rice balls in the barbecue set were delicious, so I bought some rice as well. 2kg is 1080 yen. Even if the rice is the same variety, the rice here is more delicious than the one sold at the supermarket.

Kogane Onsen is one of my favorite Onsen in Niseko. The old couple who built and are operating this hot spring are very friendly and also offer a combination Soba lunch plus Onsen at a discount. Besides being a true flow through Onsen (no recycled or treated water here), there are two different types of water: golden colored in the main bath and clear with small bubbles (not sure but I think they are CO2) in the single unit tubs outside. The views from the rotemburo are fantastic and at night there is the option to dim the outdoor lights to watch the stars in this remotely...

A lovely little onsen place managed and owned by an elderly couple. The couple was so sweet and generous to offer us some home made roasted pumpkin before and after our onsen! With only a small fee of 500yen per person, this was a great deal for those who enjoys traditional onsen like me. The outdoor pool faces mount yotei.
