Beautiful memorial which is able to convey the immense scale of the earthquake and tsunami of 2011. Combination of text, videos and objects help get the message across of how millions suffered the consequences. Staff is both helpful and caring with the front desk person being able to speak English. If you're around this is a must visit. Outside area (which is part of the new tsunami wall!) is also a great visit. 100% recommend. There is also a new Michi-no-Eki with great food...
   Read moreIf you really read everything in the museum, prepare to be in tears. They have short stories written by the survivors (available in English and Chinese too), which were heartbreaking. Inside the museum, you canât take any pictures.
On the other side, they have farmers market and sell some souvenirs. Sadly I came during Golden Week (4/5) so the line was too long.
