I highly highly highly recommend Kyoto Daily Tours, specifically Mr. Tadashi (Tad). We were very lucky to have Tad as our tour guide for the day in Kyoto. He is very knowledgeable about every site that we went to. He was also very kind and patient with my three little children! He also knew the best place to have lunch, an authentic Japanese cuisine location with a beautiful garden and delicious food. It was soooo good, that My five year old and nine year old wanted to go back to the restaurant for dinner! Tad took pictures of us at all the good spots that captured rhe beauty of each site and took video clips of us there, and at the end, he created a beautiful video of us and our tour ❤️ 😀. The tour was worth every single yen 💴 ❤️. I decided last minute to surprise my husband to a day tour of Kyoto for Father's day and made a request at 2am. By 7am I received a call and message that they had an available guide for us. Shortly after, I received an email from Tad. He is an amazing tour guide and a beautiful person as a whole. My kids love Tad and ask about him everyday we were in Japan. I wish we could've had an extra day with him to explore more of Kyoto, but he had an arrangement already for the next day. If you plan on visiting Kyoto, I highly recommend Kyoto Daily Tours, specifically Tad, to take you on the tours, and do 2 days with him! We love Tad!!! Thank you so much for teaching us about Kyoto, giving us inside scoops of each site, even showing us a hidden bamboo Forrest! Doomo arrigato...
Read moreTad was a really great and enthusiastic tour guide throughout the course of our entire tour through various places in kyoto, constantly enriching us with info about each destination explaining the history of each destination, and the significance of each destination, which greatly improved the experience of the tour, by being given really interesting info about each place we went to. He gave plenty of time for each destination, and offered quite a few rest points which was greatly appreciated since it was a very hot day on the day of the tour. The tour was well organised, with each destination given an appropriate amount of time so we can see all that that particular destination has to offer that is significant, whilst also giving enough time to explain the significance of each location.
The signature picture points were always incredibly silly and fun, and had alot of personality to them, and really added to our great tour experience with Tad.
Even in the car he would point out small bits of history of kyoto and little fun facts that really enriched the experience aswell.
and also recommended a good lunch spot hehehehe :D
Overall, it was amazing having the tour with Tad and depsite the heat, it was absolutely one of the highlights of the Japan trip, and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore kyoto,...
Read moreOur family of four with two young boys had a lovely, very memorable tour of the east side of Kyoto. My wife and I have been to Kyoto a number of times along with the crowds to the ‘must do’ sights but our guide Tad (Tadashi-San) brought a different, more reflective, calm perspective which we really enjoyed this time. We started early to miss the crowds and got to enjoy the true atmosphere, say at the zen gardens in Kinkakuji. Tad took our minds to a quiet place as he helped us appreciate the small things from the bird song to the flowers and the patterns in the swept sand… to even nature’s malting cycle for the cicada! Nothing was rushed and each sight was just long enough to take in the real Japan its sights and sounds… and not too long for the blistering heat to melt us.
Tad clearly loves Kyoto, its layers of history, culture, humanity, its close bonds with nature as well as its deep military and feudal context. All this comes across in his narrative and the answers to the many questions we had! To cap it all, Tad loves his photography and videography and presented us with some wonderful memories of the day taken from his iPhone! We could not have asked for anymore. We would highly recommend both Kyoto Daily Tours and Tadashi-san to all those with a keen interest to get a little deeper into this...
