Yunohana Ryokan — Local services in Tsumagoi

Despite some of the reviews, I had a great experience here. This place is full of rich history located off a secluded road away from the other hotels of Manza. Wish I could have stayed for more than 1 nights. Excellent baths - indoor Polyporaceae (mushroom) bath, which is only available at this ryokan and outdoor 100% Manza source bath.

Yes, the place is old and there are no locks on the doors to the room, but that is not the reason you’re coming to stay here. It is still being maintained by the owner, it’s just not updated and new like the other hotels in Manza. If you want a luxurious inn, then please stay somewhere else. The baths and the energy of this place is the best in all of Manza and offer true healing. I will only stay here in the future.

Thank you to the host who was very caring, accommodating, and served his guests delicious dinner and breakfast (if you get the meal plan). If you do not want to get the meal plan, there is a kitchen available to make your own meals. You can also do semi meal plan which includes miso and rice. Some of the other reviews seem a bit scary. But my real experience is much better. The food is awesome. The host is very nice. It is my first experience of outdoor onsen in Japan. Seeing the moon while bathing is just awesome. The temperature of the water is just right. There are also many interesting things to see, such as the huge mushroom. The onsen tamago is very delicious and mysterious to me how it is cooked: the egg yolk is well cooked and even dark but the egg white is still very soft. Interestingly, you can also observe a visual illusion in the indoor bathing: do you feel the water is higher on the left side in the picture? I also like many of the handwritten plates left by previous guests that have a Zen flavor.

20250708(火)15:30「湯の花旅館」訪問。日帰りで利用させて頂きましたが、なかなか凄いお宿でした。1981年頃に創業。豊国館と同様にかつての万座温泉の湯治場としての雰囲気を今に残す温泉宿になっています。およそ高級リゾートといった派手なイメージとは対極に位置する宿で、高級感や利便性などとは無縁ですが、温泉の鄙びた雰囲気に目がない方にとっては、たまらない垂涎の物件になるかと思います。

日帰り営業はざっくり受付9-16時となっていますが、16時以降も良識の範囲内で1〜2時間程度利用させて頂いても構わないようです。料金は大人700円でしたが最近値上がりして1000円になりました。支払いは現金のみとなります。 靴箱やロッカーといった物はなく、アメニティとしてコメリやダヴのボディソープや固形石鹸などが幾つか置かれていましたが、ソープは自前で持ち込んだ方が無難かも知れません。ドライヤーや給水器などの備品も無かったかと思います。

温泉は母屋から渡り廊下を下った離れの別棟にありますが、家屋が傾いて歪んでおり、扉や窓が上手く閉まらなかったり、板壁が一部剥がれていたりして、やや半壊気味。とても味わいがあります。 浴場は屋内に小さな脱衣所とその奥の浴室にカラン1つと内風呂1つ、屋外に露天風呂が1つあります。内風呂の湯口には大きな猿の腰掛けが浸けられたギミックがあり、桶は使い古されたケロリン桶。露天へは脱衣所手前の右手にある扉から出られますが、特に表示などありませんので、初見では分かりにくいかも知れません。露天は多分混浴だと思われますが、利用時の細かいルール等は無いようでした。

源泉は万座湯畑の「ラジウム北光泉」を引いており、泉質は低張性酸性高温泉の酸性•含硫黄-マグネシウム•ナトリウム-硫酸塩泉(硫化水素型)。泉温73.1℃、pH2.5、成分総計1397mg中に遊離硫化水素が41.8mgと非常に多く含まれ、非解離成分のメタ珪酸メタ硼酸も基準値を上回っています。知覚的には無色透明の酸味苦味硫化水素臭で、お湯は豊富な湯の華によって白濁し、酸性ですがややトロミが感じられました。

こちらでは、全国9000箇所以上の温泉を巡ったというマニアの方にお会いして、少しお話を伺わせて頂きました。 設備と値段の点で人を選ぶお宿だと思いますが、泉質に間違いはありませんので、侘びて寂びた雰囲気の中で温泉を静かにゆっくり堪能したい方にお勧めだと思います。 なお、湯の花旅館さんは現時点で万座湯巡り手形の対象になっていま...
