雲仙岳は、長崎県の島原半島中央部にある20以上の山々からなる火山群の総称です。標高1,486mの普賢岳が主峰でした。 平成2年(1990)、198年ぶりに噴火活動を開始し、1,483mの平成新山が長崎県の最高峰となりました。 画像は昭和54年5月1日に撮影したものです。現在と山の形が異なります。

ロープウェイの駅から大体30分足らず、普賢岳との分岐から、10分強で登頂できました。 そこまでキツくは無い山ですが、危険度は高いので、観光ついでに気軽にいくところではないです。少なくとも、滑らない靴、鎖場を登ったことのある経験は必要です。

登山知識ゼロのものです。すれ違うのが厳しい道が結構あるが、崖のすぐ脇の道という感じのところはほとんどなく、初心者でも登りやすかったです。頂上直前に何箇所か岩に固定されたチェーンを握るところがあるが国見岳だけだったらスポーツシューズで十分かと。たいがいは普賢岳のほうまわるのかもしれ...
