This island is great for beach, adventure and history walking tour!! You can enjoy with many way!!! There are great beach for summer! Basically no one lives in here but there are a foods shop, souvenirs shop and bathroom and shower rooms. So all equipped in this island for beach. Not only for swimming but they rent bbq equipment!! So you can come without the necessities for bbq!! But must bring meats and drinks!! Alcohol is ok to drink on this beach! But after you drink any beer you can’t get in the sea water! Looks very busy and packed with people in summer. Not only summer but other seasons you can come and enjoy an adventure! This island was originally a fort until ww2 so there are many wreckages in this island. And important place during the war. You can learn some history in here! It's a short 10 minute ride via boat to the island and tickets were 2000 yen for adults, but Yokosuka residents receive a discount. In the summer, it is hot so bring water with you or you can get drinks from the vending machine. Also saw a small concession stand there but didn't stop by to see what was offered. Read moreNice little walk on this deserted island. Remains from different ages seemed to have piled up on that rock which is not surprising considering the strategic position of the island overseeing the entrance of Tokyo Bay.
Walking around the island doesn't take more than an hour. It is a nice place for lunch (barbecue pits and cut woods seemed to be provided in the beach). Beware the kites though! They are true snipers of the sky and will dive to snatch food right of your hands. We were lucky and didn't get hurt but I can easily see how it could happen.
