I spending a night at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm hospitality by the friendly staff, who made us feel right at home. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were soon escorted to our room. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully furnished, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
One of the highlights of our stay was the breathtaking view of Lake Nakuru from the lodge. The lodge's location provides an excellent vantage point to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. We were lucky enough to spot some wildlife, including zebras and various bird species, right from our balcony.
The lodge's amenities were top-notch. The swimming pool area was well-maintained and provided a relaxing spot to unwind. We also took a stroll through the beautifully landscaped gardens, which were a delight to explore.
Dinner at the lodge's restaurant was a memorable experience. The menu featured a variety of delicious dishes, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring that all our needs were met. The ambiance of the restaurant, with its cozy setting and panoramic views, made for a perfect dining experience.
After a restful night's sleep in our comfortable bed, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast buffet. The selection was impressive, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. We particularly appreciated the fresh fruit and made-to-order omelets.
Our only regret was that we could only stay for one night. Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty. The staff's dedication to providing excellent service truly enhanced our experience.

Read moreOur stay at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge was overall enjoyable, thanks to the excellent service and the genuinely friendly and attentive staff. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. One of the highlights was the dining experience – the food was delicious and well-prepared, and we appreciated the personal touch of the chef being present in the restaurant and checking in on guests to ensure everything was to our satisfaction.
The location of the lodge offers stunning views right from the rooms, making the mornings especially beautiful and peaceful. However, we did notice that the cleanliness of the rooms fell a bit short, especially when compared to our experiences at other Sopa properties like Masai Mara and Naivasha. The rooms felt slightly dated, and the toilets in particular are in need of an upgrade to match the standard expected from a lodge of this caliber.
Despite the minor concerns with the rooms, the hospitality and the natural setting made our stay memorable. If a bit more attention is given to room upkeep and bathroom facilities, Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge would easily rank among the best. We’d still recommend it for its service, food, and...
Read moreSopa Nakuru is a spacious lodge with great views.
Access from Lake Nakuru National Park main gate is blocked due to overflooding of the lake.
Journey from Lanet gate is quite long. Over an hour plus more if you are stopping to see the animals.
Road to the lodge only accessible with a 4x4 vehicle especially during rains. Be warned.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Far away from the main common areas but they offer electric shuttle service for those who are unable to walk long distances.
Bathroom is huge, a great shower but no bathtub. Bath linens are too hard and rough.
Good quality beddings though mosquito nets are inadequately short and made from curtain sheer fabric instead of netting - quite stuffy !
Must use mosquito repellent.
Good Wifi connection in the rooms.
Meals - small variety for vegetarians. Indian meals are not up to the mark. Better quality at Sopa Naivasha. Otherwise great for non vegetarians.
Infinity swimming pool was too cold. Needs to be heated to be enjoyed. No other activities for kids.
As the lodge is far from the lake, no animals are nearby.
Google Maps has two locations for the lodge. The INCORRECT one is near...
