The mighty Mara river, We came in a non migration season, saw few families of hippos and few crocodiles. There is a small ranger tour which happens, they walk you through the few entry gates of the migration into the river and you get a chance to talk about the migration experience. You can give a small tip for the bush trail walk and the questionnaire experience, quick 15 minutes. I’ll come back to see the Mara experience next year .

The Mara river is an absolute must visit place especially in the migration season. These amazing wildebeest crossings is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A must see for everyone visiting the Serengeti. The crossings can take up to 15 minutes and there is such a lot happening. The viewing points are really well organised and marked out. You can get really close to the crossing points and take fantastic pictures

Had an exciting time getting in touch with nature and learning new things about how to coexist with wild animals. This helped a lot to clear out some of the misconceptions I had about elephants, hippo and wilderbeest. My favourite character though is the cheeky mongoose

We saw the hipps in the mara River but the guide informed us we have to wait a longer period at least the full day for watching the migration of wildebeest and zebras from Serengity National Park to Masai Mara. Its August 13 and migration is still happening. We have seen hordes of zebras and wildebeest which have already crossed but missed the river crossing of the Wildebeest and Zebras. If that would have happened we could have seen the crocodiles which are hiding under the water of Mara River. We could see the marks left out at the river by the animals crossing the Mara River from Tanzania...

The kind of river that can't be traveled on whatsoever. Its full of crocodiles & hippos. No snakes but lots of fish. Water increases & decreases accordingly. During heavy rains it overflows its banks & during the droughts, water significantly reduces but never dries. Located within the Masai Mara reserve & shared by Serengeti National game park in Tanzania. Its where the crossing of the wilder beasts takes place from Serengeti &...
