Even though you camp with your own tent in the "parking lot" this place is really great! It doesn't feel like a parking anyways as your under beautiful yellow acacia trees in a lushy green environment. Toilets are clean and showers have hot water. You can use their kitchen area for dishwashing etc... If you want to eat at their restaurant remember to book in advance as it's not possible in the last minute... Also, ask for recommendations about which road to access the camp as the southern road is blocked a 100mts from camp because of erosions. Best is to take Njoro road and then follow straight on the gravel road arriving at the camp from the north.

Fantastic camp on a hill to the north west of lake Nakuru. It is a bit hard to find as there are no signs on the main road, but the location here on Google Maps is correct, so you just need to be prepared to take a dirt road through a rural African village. The service is just excellent, with everyone making you feel really welcome. The cook is very good, so you can just discuss with him what you want for dinner and he'll make it! Our tent was very clean and really large!

A very warm welcome awaits you from the friendly hosts at Kambi Amani. This is glamping as you'd hope it to be - plush tents with comfortable and grand beds, lots of lovely design touches, with good taste in decor throughout. There are wonderful views of Lake Nakuru, with tables and drink/ food service ensuring you can relax and take in those views. Not suitable for kids and watch out for those acacia tree needles! Fully recommended and the rates are reasonable too 😁

The stay: The environment was very peaceful, quiet, and the temperature didn’t get too cold. It’s possible to get a bonfire started if you needed one. Enjoyed just sitting under the stars to enjoy the tranquility. The music in the restaurant area was slightly loud but not too bad plus I’m sure they’d have reduced it if I asked. There are A LOT of thorns on the grounds (probably since acacia trees are scattered all over). Got pricked a few times so would definitely not recommend for children or people. Make sure to carry shoes with a good thick sole as well since some thorns can pierce through slippers. Make sure to wake up by sunrise to watch the sun rise over Nakuru town and the lake.

Service: Micheal & Dickson were very friendly and made the stay a fun one. They were very punctual with time e,g if you said you wanted your food ready by a particular time.

Camping fee: 800pp (own tent) Meals: ugali + 1/4 chicken + kachumbari + greens (1100pp) ((The food was AMAZING!))

Payment Options: Paid directly to the manager/chef’s phone number. I think an mpesa till number would be more professional or the option to swipe

Would definitely...

This place is amazing. Spending time here makes me feel refreshed, relaxed, and energized.

The food and the decor remind me of home.

The electricity and the Wi-Fi worked consistently throughout the entire camp.

If you have any doubt whether you should stay here, look at the two- and three-star reviews. They're all from people who really liked the place but just didn't award it five stars.

The only downside of staying here is that you're in a village far from town. Boda drivers will not necessarily know how to find it. But the remote location makes it...
