Our trip to the Masai Mara was nothing short of spectacular! Staying at the Mara Major Camp, we were fortunate to have Sam Kool as our guide, who made the experience even more amazing with his incredible knowledge and passion for the wildlife. Sam's expertise ensured we had the best sightings during our game drives, especially the evening drives, where the wilderness truly came alive.
We were lucky enough to spot all of the Big Five, except for the elusive rhino. However, the highlight of our trip was watching a cheetah hunt and witnessing the Rongai pride of lions feast on two buffalos, a kill that kept them fed for the two days we were there. It was a rare and humbling experience to observe these majestic creatures so closely in their natural habitat.
The Mara River was breathtaking, famed for the wildebeest migration, and it did not disappoint with its beauty and serenity. Our journey also took us to the Mara-Serengeti border, where the vast landscapes stretched beyond sight, a true testament to the untouched beauty of Africa.
We entered the park via the Sekanani Gate, which was a cultural experience in itself. The vibrant life of the Masai people, their colorful beads, and their warm attempts to sell their handmade crafts added to the richness of the trip. It was a wonderful fusion of wildlife and culture, creating memories we’ll cherish forever.
The Masai Mara is truly one of the most magical places on Earth, and our experience was made perfect by the excellent hospitality at Mara Major Camp and the guidance of Sam Kool....

The roads here are awful and very bumpy, but if you are willing to get the african massage, it'll be okay. There are so many animals! I saw all of the big 5 here besides the Rhinos. Also saw cheetahs, Jackals, and tons of Heyenas. It does get pretty hot, and there are lots of visitors...
