A really beautiful pass with nice and twisty roads and lots of hairpin style turns. One of the highest in fact in Kyrgyzstan. Not very busy and always has its own climate that is different from flat surfaces. Make sure to stop on the top to take a few photos. Bunch of travelers can be met here on bikes and bicycles. No place to eat on the pass but there are lots of villages before and after it.

The last hurdle! The 3615 meter high Taldyk Pass is the last major barrier the traveler has to cross on the Pamir Highway traveling to the final destination of Osh. Since the pass is located on the Pamir Highway, one of the main connecting roads of the region, it is kept open all year round.

Асфальтированная дорога из Оша в Хуруг (восточный Таджикистан) была построена через перевал в 1930–1932 годах. Сейчас на перевале установлен памятник руководителю строительства Юрию Михайловичу Грушко. В декабре 2008 года Экспортно-импортный банк Китая предоставил кредит в размере 75,29 млн долларов США и грант в размере 7,5 млн долларов США на восстановление участка дороги, проходящего через перевал Талдык (123–190 км). Проект был завершен в декабре 2013 года.

Taldyk Pass is an all year round pass in the Alay Mountains of Osh Region of Kyrgyzstan. The road from Osh to Khorugh (eastern Tajikistan) was built through the pass in 1930–1932. There is a monument to the memory of the construction manager Yuri M.Grushko located at the pass. The pass is traversed by European route E007 and route M41.
