I love the nasi lemak there. For anglers like me it's a haven for a night rest. The resort is just basic! But the place is picture perfect with pristine white sand. Void of much development!

Did my PADI Open Water cert on this small island, it was just perfect, no tourists, just us divers. Crystal clear waters.

Disclaimer: My trips were done a long time ago

Pulau Dayang used to be the place to get our regular scuba diving fix. We would squeeze in a few dives during the weekend before going back to face the work on Monday.

The common number was 5 dives, but there were times when we managed to do 7/8 dives. 5/6 dives on Saturday (starting with dawn dive and end at night dive) and 3 on the Sunday (dawn, morning, and noon).

Since all we did was diving and eating, we didn't have time to explore the island and just roamed around the cottage, beach, and sea. I would say it's a decent scuba diver community although there were a few times when accidents and incidents happened during my active time there (propeller and diving accidents) and some environmental damage caused by rookie scuba divers (due to poor skills, ignorant operator, and lack of etiquettes). I hope it is improved now.

There were rows and public toilets near the shore which was handy for big group of scuba diver although every closet was shaky (no kidding). Again, hopefully it has improved. The breakfasts were fun, traditional chinese style, and there were fun times when we could enjoy durian and bought sugary donuts on the boat (it's not a healthy choice, but trust me, they tasted the best during diving days).

There were also events at night especially during football season when we could watch them on a big projector outdoor.

Overall, I had mostly fond memory of dayang. The diving itself was not fantastic but good enough to give me a fix. Sometimes we were treated with good dive like seeing huge Napoleon Wrasses on dawn dive when it was still quiet. The water was clear and the...
