Mount Pulai(Gunung Pulai) - Adjacent to Kampung Sri Gunung Pulai and located about 15km from Pineapple Town Kulai District, Johore Darul Takzim, Malaysia. With the height of 654m above sea level Mount Pulai is an underrated destination that tourists are surprisingly unaware of 3 waterfalls/cascades and the streams. 🏞️ It's a good location for recreational and outdoor activities such as picnic or camping (over night stay), hiking and mountain climbing. Doable along the dry season every year from Mei to September. There're 2 trails that leading up to the peak/summit. Paved/tarmac road (all the way), no need permit - distance about 5km ++ and duration of 2 hours (one way/ascend). Forest/jungle trail which's starts at the top quarter of the destination and being the popular trail among local and outsider hikers. The former has a reputation for putting hikers/climbers out of breath with steep slopes and almost vertical rock wall near the peak. ⛰️ Avoid visiting after the rain to avoid being surprised by an unexpected 'leeches'. The hike itself to be moderately challenging, its take about 3.5 hours of continuous climbing on average for climbers/hikers to reach the peak/summit where there is a 🗼 telecommunications tower which prevent visitors/tourists from getting any higher. It involves some ropes climbing, clamberings over logs and rocks as well. There's a limited view at the top except the waterfall as it is surrounded by trees. Take nothing just a photo, left nothing except your footsteps. What you bring up you should bring down, don't mess with the...
Read moreIt was my first-ever solo hiking experience. I took a grab from Plentong, picked up by 6:30 am and reached the foot of the Pulai mountain by 7:32 am and yeah, it was raining cats and dogs. I took the paved path for safety and familiarized myself with the temperature around me, rain and sweat merged like water and salt in my body 🤣🤣🤣. I reached the top 600MASL (tower) after 2 hours of pauses for drink and poses for selfie. I headed to the pinnacle with the military guard, he said people are not allowed there and cannot take picture, too. He is a kind talking authority. I think that is the tip part of 654MASL. Going down, I tried to tracked inside the forest , it's safe also but there are insects hi and helloing to me. You will find ribbons of red and yellow as a guide to in and out of the jungle side. I didn't push through to the depth of the jungle as I was alone and was raining still. I visited and fed my eyes with the beauty of falls, too. I will surely visit this forest again to explore it. There are toilets and Surau, Food stalls and others that are available down the Mountain foot. Try to visit Mt. Pulai and you will really love...
