Had a great time here! Easy to access, very friendly staff and fellow climbers, and current promotion period is very worth it. Quite plenty of tracks to climb (around 20+) and some bouldering area to enjoy.
It's better to bring a friend along so you can climb the wall at your own pace along with your friend. You will need the belay tutorial if you want to climb with your friend. If you're going alone, join the group at boulder climbing at the entrance room. It's fun and the staff actively gives you tips on climbing. People here are very mindful of various dangers, so you will see or notice some of the things to watch out to ensure your safety. There was a post-belay course that was like a test to me haha It is a very social place
All the rental equipments are provided. All you need to bring is a pair of socks and easy-to-stretch clothes so you can do spiderman stuff on the wall.
I will...
Read moreDefinitely changed a lot since the last time I was here (Jan 2024). There’s air-conditioning in more zones now, and ventilation is vastly better, a huge, and much needed, improvement. The holds are still grimy and smelly, but honestly, that’s par for the course when a gym’s partially exposed to the elements.
The training area is very well-equipped with weights, bands, various hangboards, rehab tools, and both a Kilter and MoonBoard (remember to ask staff to adjust the angle, it’s not fixed at 40 deg).
Grading is still a bit inconsistent in my opinion, but the routes themselves are great. They’ve got some cool dual-tex holds in the mix too, so definitely check those out. Just ignore the grade, try everything, and have fun.
The staff is really a lot friendlier and seem to have more ownership towards the gym! Real great improvement from the last...
Read moreThe rock climbing experience was horrendously terrible that I truly do not know where to start. Firstly, the instructor that instructed us was terrible, he was very rude and very hostile, especially to me, probably because I am on the overweight side of the scale and he kept emphasizing on how u shouldn't climb, which made me very upset as that is clearly prejudice against fat people and body shaming. In addition, the instructor also tried to shame my other friend which was younger, hence the instructors there are not skilled enough and qualified AT ALL. Other than that, the environment is very bad, the safety harnesses are not very sturdy and flimsy. Hence it was a truely TERRIBLE experience, I do not recommend people going to climb at Rock world at all, especially if your like me on the plumper side or at the younger side, cause you'll...
