This is my 2nd of my g7 bucket list. I joined Denai Adventure team for a day hike with 25 others. Parking is at masjid lojing gua musang with RM 10 fee managed by the people of the masjid. I arrived at 1 am then took a short nap. We started to move on 4wd truck at 330am. It took about 20min of drive from the masjid to the plantation. The driver was rough. We started to hike at about 4am. I am not fast hiker so I was left behind alone. Im used to jungle so Im not worried. Arrive at camp periuk at 6 am. Take a short break then refill my water from the small creek down the camp. It tasted good. I further hiked to camp kasut which took me 3 hours. I took a short break there to eat my breakfast, choco pie. The sweeper guy just noticed me that i was left behind. I told him that there were other 3 people behind me. He stayed with me and radio his partner about those 3. I managed to get to the summit 1.5 hours from the camp. Those 3 behind me unfortunately couldnt make it. Advice: 1.Dont do 2d1n trip. Day hike is better since you dont have to carry all those heavy burden. 2.Bring a light sweater or wind breaker. The surrounding is cold but your body is hot. Wear proper hiking shoes. Boots are better. The trail is very wet and muddy. Bring at least 1.5...
Read moreGunung yong belar is a must hike on your G7 list. It can be as dayhike or 2d1n for normal hiking. Although it is the easiest mountain out of G7, you must be prepared for its upphill and downhill track during descending. It may torture ur mental or even physical if u are not fit enough for dayhike. It is not my fastest time nor slow, total hiking time was 18hrs but uphill only 5hrs and 30min via kebun excluding rest. U will be cut roughly 1-2hrs on the way back.
Log: Distance roughly 14km and elevation gain 1400m
Kebun - kem tudung periuk 2hrs Kem tudung periuk - kem kasut 2hrs and 30min Kem kasut to peak - 47min
As i mention before this is my pace. Some people get tired after kem kasut and leads to 1-2hrs to reach the peak .
Hiking tips: bring along stove, meggie, and enough calories intake 1-2k calories should suffice and emergency blanket plus windproof sweater. The pickup truck normally delayed and u will need to endure the cold if...
Read moreTough muddy hike but it's proper jungle! 🌴
Tough to find the entrance, but very well-marked from there on out ♥️
Camp Tudang is great if you can overlook the trash (recurring theme on the trail) 🗑️
Camp Kasut does NOT hold up well in the rain, we had to pitch our tent on a crappy little slope to avoid it getting soaked ⛺
The peak is gorgeous and a great alternative tent site to Kasut 🏔️
The mud is insane when it's raining, but the canopy keeps most of the actual rain off 🌧️
More beautiful than anything in Cameron Highlands, it's a must-do if you have a bit of gear and...
