The Melaka River is a river in Melaka, Malaysia. The river has its own historical value as the left-hand side of the river is a municipality, settlement, cemetery, business, shipping, port and others since hundreds of years ago. Hence, the Malacca Chief Minister's decision, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, to relocate the Melaka River as a tourist destination is desirable. Among the latest features available around the Melaka River, Bandar Hilir, Melaka, include: River cruise services along the Melaka River. "Malacca Duck Tours", an amphibian boat carrying visitors across the route around Jalan Taman Melaka Raya and directly to Melaka Island before going down to the sea. It then passes along the coast of the Straits of Malacca until it rides back to land near the mouth of the Melaka River. The Melaka Monorail service traces Melaka River. Flood mitigation programs of RM90 million and RM120 million for flash flood projects. Hotel "Casa del Rio" at Jalan Kota Laksamana. The Taming Sari tower which spins as high as 110 meters in Bandar Hilir. The tower can rotate 360 degrees mimicking the tower concept on Sentosa Island, Singapore. Professional wiring works are carried out by project engineers from Switzerland. However, the spinning tower has been moved to a new area because at the bank of the river has ruined the historic wall. Marina Melaka at the mouth of the Melaka River - for recreational sports. The Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex (CIQ) is priced at RM35 million. 6.8 million tourists visit various destinations in Melaka and among the latest destinations are tracking the history of the...

Melaka River flows 40 km from Kampung Gadek Hilir to Melaka Strait, which based on water quality analysis from 1976 to 1995, Melaka River due to the impact of heavy polluted river. The City Government of Melaka has a vision for the future of the sale value of this City and all aspects of its supporters, one of them by doing massive revamping Melaka River. Based on the decision of the Minister of the Head of Malacca, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, to relocate the Melaka River as a desirable tourist destination, the local government established a special agency, namely Melaka River and Melaka Beach Development (PPSPM = Perbadananan Sungai dan Pantai Melaka), specifically formed to deal with the Melaka River this. The $ 100 million (RM350 million) Infrastructure Project Fund has been released by the government to revive and rejuvenate the river that is central to Malacca as a historic city, including the construction of tidal dams, the restoration of buildings and bridges, dredging, concrete rivers with river paths. The land reclamation project has expanded the river mouth further into the Malacca Strait. Now Society Melaka and Travelers can enjoy the fruits of hard work revamping of this river, the beauty of the river is radiated at nightfall, in the company of a lot of light colors, sights and Cafe on the edge of the river, I can not wait to get back to the river is just unwind and enjoy the atmosphere. The nostalgic acclaim that makes Malacca famous used to be places like Bukit Cina, Perigi Hang Tuah, Perigi Hang Li Poh, Cheng Hon Teng Temple in Jonker street and of course the famous Portugis A Farmosa arch way. These are some of the previous recognizable land mark that fills our memories when talking about Malacca state. Coming into the modern era, this once a little Nyonya Baba heritage has grown into one of the biggest tourist attraction in the country. Apart from those historical icons and sites, there are plenty of modern tourist attractions that are not short of its own uniqueness in drawing the number of footfalls coming for a visit. Though Portugis settlement was once famous for the 'Serani' as the local calls them in reality are the Eurasians, the early descendant of the straits settlements have in a way lost its shine and fails to attract sightseers to the community settlement. The emergence of a new breed of tourist attraction cater towards family itinerants have lifted this trailblazer into a big player now with mushrooming giant complexes and ultra modern malls to bring the number of tourists flowing to the city. One of the city's initiative is the refurbishment of the Melaka river churning this murky river to an enthralling monumental attraction. Go experience the transformation of an ancient city to a modernized metropolitan. Give me a Like if you find this article...

The Malacca River cuts down the middle of the old town and makes a nice addition to the World Heritage area for those visiting the city. On the Southeast side of the river you can find St. Paul Hill attractions and museums and on the Northwest side of the river you can find China town, the interesting Jonker Street and some temples worth visiting. We have enjoyed dining along the river during past trips. During our latest visit to Malacca, we had a nice little stop at Riverine (see our review if interested). There is now a Hard Rock Cafe on the river as well, demonstrating how the times are changing in Malacca. One of the best ways to experience the Malacca River is to the boat cruise that last around 40-45 minutes. Others will simply enjoy walking along a small stretch of the river before finding something else to do in Malacca. If you visit the river early in the morning, you might see the giant monitors swimming about looking for food along the river banks. Some are very large, at least a meter long. Overall, The Malacca River is ok and makes a nice addition to the things to do/see while visiting Malacca. Its not particularly large, beautiful, clean but it works in Malacca.
