Enlightened Heart Buddhist (Tibetan Temple) 打捫心意佛院 அறிவொளி இதய புத்த கோவில் — Local services in Perak

This is a unique buddhist temple in malaysia. Majority of malaysian buddhist are from mahayana, followed by theravada. This buddhist temple belongs to tibetan branch, which is considered a minority group. This temple also known as the Enlightened Heart Medicine Buddha Bhaishaya Guru Pagoda, meaures 72 metres in height making it one of the tallest in the world

The design of the pagoda is special with an enormous opening from the 8th floor upwards through which an 11 metre high gold coloured Shakyamuni Buddha statue overlooks hills, ponds, and pomelo farms towards Ipoh city.

Surrounding the pagoda are a number of pavilions and buildings containing statues of deities, Buddhas, guardians, mythical creatures and more. Tibetan prayer wheels and prayer flags line the walkways.

There is a wheel of fortune which devotees are instructed to walk around in a clockwise direction and to use their right hands to turn the wheel. Throughout the temple the walls are decorated with carvings, paintings and Buddhist scriptures.

The pagoda’s interior has a hollow atrium. The appearance of the temple is certainly striking though the gaudy colours and kitsch decor may not be to everybody’s taste. The quality of construction materials used and the workmanship is not all that it could be but the place is fascinating...

Very beautiful place, but lack of maintenance. I've went here last week on 17th July 2022. Everything was so dusty, as if the place has been left untouched for a long time. When you walk on the floor, you can feel/know its been a while since they've cleaned the place. Although they do provide dustbins for you to throw your rubbish, but the place really needs a good cleaning.

It's such a waste to see such beautiful place with such condition. The crowd is very little, not much people at all on a Sunday.

There's no joss sticks, so you can bring your own joss sticks. They do however provide other types of offering items (RM3 - RM10)

They also have beautiful fish ponds, filled with lots of fish. But unfortunately when I want to purchase the fish pellets to feed the fish, it was already finished, and looks like no one bothered topping up the fish pellets to put on sell.

Overall I would say that it is a beautiful place but it needs great...

Frankly speaking, I only knew about this place after being told by my relatives. It is a hidden gem temple in Tambun, Ipoh. I am honoured to have visited this temple during Chinese New Year. You will like this place if you like to photos and praying. The building structure is simply amazing. That's why I felt wasted why so many people doesn't know of this place.
