This was my first experience rope climbing outside. I paid 160 rm for the 3 hours and I was pretty much alone for most of the session (on Monday morning).

I got told over email that there are morning and evening sessions with a specific schedule. But on the spot they told me you can come any time... so who knows.

Anyway, the guys were pretty friendly and they seemed to know their stuff. I'm scared of heights + trusting a new person that they "got you" was a lot for me, but eventually I started to enjoy it and did a few of the beginner routes.

When a group of 3 girls came, I had to wait almost 30 minutes for another route to be prepared for top rope. But in the end I climbed 30 minutes past my time, so I guess I got my 3 hrs.

There are bathrooms, water is provided, shoes/gear/chalk too. You can "store" your stuff at their place but it might be easier to just have it in the climbing area.

The only "downside" is that it's at the opposite side of Batu Caves, so you have to travel more from the train station. I walked more than 30 minutes there and encountered 30 stray dogs on the way (always unsure if they're gonna be friendly or not). But all good. There's also some bus connection, if you don't want to walk or grab.

PS: one of the stray dogs I encountered was the...

If you're new to rock climbing or looking for a spot to build confidence, Gua Damai Extreme Park is an excellent choice! Gua Damai crag offers a fantastic range of beginner-friendly routes, primarily in the 5c to 6b difficulty range, making it ideal for those starting their climbing journey. The routes are thoughtfully designed and well-marked, providing just the right balance of challenge and fun.

Accessibility is another highlight of this park. Located close to the main road and there is ample of parking available outside the park, getting here is a breeze. The facilities are top-notch, with clean toilets, sheltered areas, and plenty of resting spots where you can catch your breath or enjoy a snack between climbs.

If you don't have your own climbing gear, don’t worry—they’ve got you covered. The park offers climbing gear rentals at reasonable prices, ensuring you have everything you need for a safe and enjoyable climb. For beginners who might need extra guidance or someone to belay them, climbing guides are available for hire. These guides are knowledgeable (SEACF certified), friendly, and make the experience even more enjoyable.

The well-maintained environment and focus on accessibility make this park a gem for climbers of all levels, but it truly shines...

My family went for their caving tour and enjoyed it. Started with climbing up the yellow metal staircase, then a short ascend to reach the start of the cable system. We had to hook and unhook our own carabiner to the cable on our left as we climbed up the cave (unhook at the anchor points then hook to next segment). There were some metal ladders en route too, that were mostly anchored firm. The climb was steeper than I expected, left the unfit me with sore leg muscles for next day. The guide helped my younger kid along, such as with the carabiner. Took us about 1 hour to go up, into a smaller “curtain cave”, into “batik cave”, then out of the cave and at the edge of the forest, then back down the same way.

Helmets, head lights, gloves, harness and a rope tied to our harness with a single carabiner at the end were provided. 2 guides, one at the front and another at the end. They also gave a brief explanation about the cave formation.

Toilets are just next to their office, could leave our bags in their office when we were in the cave. One of the guide helped carry our water bottle in his backpack.

My kids also asked to go on the kiddy zipline after the caving tour.

Hope to come back again to try abseiling or...
