"I purchased a Sharp air conditioning unit, model SHA-AHXP-10YMD, on May 14, 2022, from the HLK chain store in Bayu Perdana. In April 2023, it broke down, and I reported the issue to COCORO Life, their outsourced customer service team. I had to download their app and book a service ticket, which took a whole week to fix.
The technician informed me that the root cause was a faulty mainboard in the outdoor unit. Fortunately, it was still under warranty, so I didn't have to pay the hefty RM700+/- for the mainboard replacement. I couldn't help but feel frustrated. How could a 1HP air conditioner, which cost me around RM1500, break down so easily, and why does the mainboard replacement cost a small fortune?
I was under the impression that this was an inverter air conditioner with 5-star energy-saving capabilities. The goal was to save on energy costs, but in the end, the savings on my TNB bill can't even cover half of the mainboard replacement cost.
Fast forward to October 15, 2023, and this model breaks down again! Just a few months after the last service, and now it's out of warranty. I'm at a loss for what to do because Sharp's warranty only covers one year. This model wasn't cheap; it cost me approximately RM1500. Now I have to call HLK to discuss my options, especially since I remember buying an additional insurance package from them for RM400.

We purchased a Sharp fridge three years ago, which came with a 10-year warranty on the compressor. Unfortunately, the compressor malfunctioned within three years. Despite being entitled to a warranty claim, our experience with your customer service has been exceedingly frustrating.
The technician who inspected our fridge at home indicated that the required services would cost us more than 500rm. This was two weeks ago, and since then, we have not received any updates from him. Despite our daily calls to your customer service hotline, each inquiry yields a different timeline for resolution. The most recent estimate provided is approximately two months. Imagining life without a fridge for such an extended period is particularly challenging, especially considering we have two small children.
The discrepancy between the assurances of customer service and the actual timeframe for resolution raises concerns about the effectiveness of your warranty system and customer support. It creates the impression that your company may be employing deceptive sales tactics, which is disheartening considering your status as an international brand.

Several year ago we spent a considerable amount of money on a large, Sharp refrigerator from a reputable Malaysian retailer and it worked flawlessly for seven years, virtually without needing a service. Then of course, the motherboard failed just before the CNY holiday - something both consumers and especially Sharp, the fridge manufacturer would anticipate, just not the bad holiday timing. So during the holiday we completely lost the fridge for four full days before Sharp Service Dept ( the address given on this page) came back to work, very slowly despite our message heading being URGENT. Sharp would never allow us to speak to the right dept to see if spare were available - they would reply in 24 hrs we were told. The bad news was that Sharp will not be able to REPLACE A SIMPLE MOTHER BOARD IN LESS THAN TWO TO THREE MONTHS. They offered us absolutely no other support of any kind. Im not sure what Sharp imagine their customers are going to do with a dead fridge for several months in 38* temps room temperature. But the lack of effective customer support in what is a critical situation, means we definitely will not be buying a Sharp Fridge from Sharp Electronics Malaysia, ever again. Great product. Lousy...
