Velidhoo (Dhivehi: ވެލިދޫ) is one of the inhabited islands of Noonu Atoll in the Maldives. The Veliduans today are a mix of people from the two nearest islands in the atoll, Magoodhoo and Tholhendhoo. Today Velidhu is the most populous island of Noonu Atoll. The Veliduans' language is Dhivehi.
The island has many historic monuments including a tree (Velidhu bodu nikagas), which has been there for more than five centuries. Much of the history of Velidhu is unknown, but research is ongoing. The island is said to be one of the greatest fishing areas in the Maldives.
At a ceremony held on 26th December 2017, at the harbour area of Velidhoo Island, the President inaugurated the harbour by unveiling the harbour memorial. The harbour inaugurated today in Velidhoo Island is 800 feet long and 250 feet wide.
Bank of Maldives (BML) launched self service banking in Noonu Atoll Velidhoo on 24th November 2016. The self service ATM Velidhoo has been opened to the public.
BML said in addition to the customary cash withdrawal service, the ATM would offer money transfer and cash depositing facilities round the clock.
