January 3rd, 2025 - I had a foursome play and we ran into a problem finishing our round.

Our tee-time was 1:10 pm. The starter said that the round should take 4 hrs. 30 min.

Everything was going very well until we reached the back nine. We ended up behind a group of 8 people (see attached video & photo).

This seemed very excessive. I am very surprised that this course would allow a group of 8 to slow down everyone. Carts are all GPS enabled and the pro-shop can keep track of everyone in real time.

We could not finish our round before dark. In addition, the last comfort station (17) would not serve us anything to eat or drink. I’m not sure why they would close before everyone had a chance to finish their rounds.

This is the 3rd time I’ve played this course and the 1st time I have run into an issue like this.

I'm and avid golfer and have played over 180 rounds of golf in 3 different countries in 2024. I am very familiar with resort style golf. I am not expecting a sub-4 hour round.

After voicing my concern to the pro (Jose Marcellan Guinot), and asking for a partial refund or a credit to come back and play at a later date, he offered a 10% discount and to call him prior to making a tee time.

He also added these comments in an email:

"The twilight rate does not guarantee that you complete the 18hole round"

"we cannot take responsibility for their lack of etiquette although we try to loop around the course all the time and identify these inappropriate attitudes."

I was a little surprised by both of these comments. Again, every cart is being tracked via GPS. Jose even included a printout of one of our carts showing that we did not complete 18 holes. Just be aware of what you might run into if you play this course. I've played many of the courses in Cabo. I think the other two courses close by (Quivera & Diamante) offer a much...

Played a round here on my Cabo trip last week and it was really quite good.

Positives: Immediately greeted by multiple friendly staff when I got out of my taxi. They showed me the locker room and the proshop and took my bag out to the cart. Locker room was nice but small (really a bathroom with a chair and a few lockers). The pro shop was decent, didn't love the selection but the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The course was immaculately maintained. Really fun and beautiful layout. Pace of play was good (right at 4 hours, I expected it to take longer). Beautiful 80ish degree day with light winds.

Practice area was very nice with friendly staff out there. Not pushy or rude as I've experienced at other clubs in Cabo.

Negatives - I'm docking them a star due to the round price vs the all inclusive food/drink statement at the beginning of the round. The lady at the club house bar gave me only two beers to start the round and she told me any mixed drink would be extra charge. And then I think we played 6 holes before the first comfort station. The food was just so so.... Luke warm empanadas, low grade hot dogs, pretzels, nuts, veggie cups.... Nothing special

2 alcoholic drink max on any one stop. Very disappointing due to long gaps between stations.. Then at the next stop I asked for a single shot of tequila and was refused but he offered a mixed drink (the mixed drinks were badly stirred and not shaken so they weren't good). Seems like they were worried about controlling costs when I was tipping well and not being greedy. Big turn off for me.

The comfort stations were by far the worst I've experienced in Cabo and are a real big disappointment given the cost to play. I'd play this course again because it's beautiful, but the comfort stations need...

I had an absolutely WONDERFUL experience at Solmar Golf Links. My buddy and I played while our spouses had a spa day.

We were told upon arrival that the greens had been punched and fairways prepped for peak season 10 days prior so the course was at 85% readiness. To make it up for it, they gave us a $50 credit to their pro shop. This was unexpected and appreciated as I did want to get merch.

We started the day on the range and had an employee join us and as we finished swinging a club, he would clean them off for us. He would then carry the clubs back to the cart and load our bags when we were done. If we chipped on the chopping green, he was there to retrieve balls.

We then had our complimentary breakfast at the welcome station which was an incredible breakfast burrito. While having breakfast we were able to chat it up with the clubhouse pro and get tips and tricks on the course and hear a bit about his story.

Once we got to the course, we were blown away with the views and honestly the condition of the course. Despite being in prep mode for peak season, it was in better shape than most of the courses we play in Washington state!

Comfort stations were great. The tamales and hot dogs made in them were delicious and the drinks/snacks were good as well. Heads up! They can only do 2 alcoholic beverages per person per stop at the comfort station. Honestly super smart because you want to stay sober enough to enjoy the beauty of the course!

All in all, we had a blast and will recommend this course to anyone that...
