If interested in the geologic history of Mongolia this is a good location to see the geology that is often hidden from view. What look like rhyolite flows are exposed here in this deeply incised meander of the Chuluut River. This location is not far from the road and is a convenient location to experience part of Mongolia that is usually hidden from view. This is a min Grand Canyon of Mongolia. This depth of the river cut indicates that the land here has risen and the river cut a deep channel as the land rose. Usually this is hidden, but here exposed.
