1 hr hammam + 1 hr massage. 400MAD with free shuttle to / from your hotel.
I booked via WhatsApp the day before and a woman called me immediately to confirm a time.
The hammam was more like a âDIY hammamâ as you must do the soap and exfoliant yourself. The lady attends other appointments at the same time as yours. A charming conveyor belt. There is one other wet room adjoining. She did do the exfoliating mitt and sang a nice song and threw jugs of warm water on me and washed my hair. It was not as thorough as other hammams. I didnât know what was happening in between stages. This led to frustration, and long waits. I even came out with soap on me in a robe asking âou eat la Madame?â I donât speak good French and zero Arabic so there was a communication barrier for sure. I must have looked a sight đ€Šââïž
I wore disposable knickers for both hammam and massage but I noticed another lady wore bikini top and bottoms so there is no requirement to be fully nude. My belongings were locked away and you take the key with you.
The group of men and women from the other room all sat alongside me in robes and the lady said âvetementsâ pointing at the locker, for some reason I assumed this meant I had to get dressed, even though I was wet. I got changed in the toilet because I didnât want to expose myself to strange men.
A French woman in the group kindly explained to me that you are supposed to rub the black soap yourself and then leave it to activate, similarly the exfoliant.. you do that also. If I was told this during the hammam, I would have done it! Instead I felt confused and annoyed when I should have been relaxing.
I felt like such an idiot tourist. I got the hammam protocol all wrong and also got stressed when I didnât need to. The massage was upstairs and it was flawless.
Both ladies were tipped generously despite the communication problems. I left feeling relaxed.
I am not a hammam expert. Iâve only been to three different ones. But sharing my experience for the benefit of other visitors to help manage expectations,
It is ultimately good value for money and the girls are good, skilled and...
Read moreUnfortunately I agree with some of the bad reviews, the Hammam scrub lasts 4mins tops, quick scrub and a lot of the time you are laying there wandering whatâs going on and where the ladies have gone. Wouldnât be too bad if they werenât stood outside talking/singing. Itâs like a production line, quick rinse one lady did both me and my husband and it was like she was on a timer. (Not relaxing at all) after we were done we were given robes and waiting for the massage they placed a jar on the table for tips which is very awkward especially when they havenât done much in there in the first place.
Again after Hammam waiting again to go in to do the massage. We eventually got seen too we sat in a shabby room the window was open and You can hear all the street noise from outside the ladies for the massage were ok. The massage lasts about 45mins. The ladies left us to change all I could here from them outside was tips madam tips đ (like we havenât already paid for the service) it was our last day there my husband pulled out some change to give them some as the massage wasnât too bad and the look of disgust from the worker đđ it was awkward she handed the money back and started saying something to her friend in another language. Be aware if the tip isnât big enough they wonât take it lol. I donât think itâs worth the hype at all. We had a Hammam in turkey it was a lot more proffesional compared to this place.
When we came out we saw some people from the UK they asked how much we had paid for the service and the lady at the reception started getting really annoyed at this đ and said as we booked through someone we got a good price. This doesnât give them a good impression as itâs thought they charge different people different prices. Overall if I could I wouldnât even have given...
Read moreI've been contemplating whether to leave this review or not. I just want to make people aware not to take anything valuable or sentimental to the hamam and massage in your bag. We booked this massage and hamam with an agent in our hotel and he was able to get this booked with in 10 mins. A car came and picked us up. I left all my valuable jewellery at the hotel safe except 2 gold coloured anklets. I put them in my rucksack pocket and went there. In the hamam we were given locker where we put our stuff. But in the massage room, we left our stuff on the chair for the couples massage. Women did the massage, but on of the lady kept whispering with the other one, but the other one was talking in a hushed voice. Made me feel a bit uncomfortable. After the massage we went downstairs and I opened my bag and found only one anklet (pic included). Straight away I told my husband that it was missing and it happened in the massage place. He encouraged me to look for it. I thought it best I empty out my bag properly and check at the hotel. I went there and checked the room and my bag throughly. I wanted to mention it to the agent at the hotel, but didn't want to make things unpleasant. I was disappointed but the anklet is of no value. It looked like gold but it was not real gold. It just ruined a great experience. The only reason I took my was because we were planning to go straight to the souk after the massage. I wanted to deal with it while I was there, but didn't get a chance. Both hamam and massage was absolutely amazing and can't really fault it. The whole anklet going missing...
